- Spud's Big Splash

- This series marks the first and last of a few things:
- First appearances of Mrs. Barbara Bentley, J.J., Molly, Skip and Trix. This series also marks the official debut of Angelo Sabatini who had previously made a brief cameo in A Christmas To Remember.
- First series of the second half of the Original Series.
- First series to have an episode not released onto home media in the UK.
- Last series to premier on Nick Jr. in the United States.
- Last series to use Scoop's original mouth plates.
- Last series of the Original Series to be shown on Sprout after 2010 as Series 7, 8 and 9 were removed late that year for unknown reasons but were still available for viewing in the US on Home Releases.

- However, Treehouse (Canada) and Discovery Kids (Latin America) aired Series 7, 8, and 9 in the format of the previous North American TV Blocks.
- This is the only series of the Original Series to not have any episodes released early on Home Media in the US, and the only series prior to Series 11.
