Trivia
Production
- This was the first of three series to use the original intro (sans North American countries, which used an extended variant of the remastered intro for all OGS series), which features a scene of Roley flattening the asphalt Muck had layed in a previous scene.
- Filming for series started around July 1998 and finished by 26 February 1999.
- This series uses different animation props for the human puppets and background props than Series 2–16.
- Despite likely being filmed in widescreen, this is the only series to have never been mastered into a widescreen format. Series 2–onwards would have widescreen masters produced for all of the episodes, including shorts (with some having special "pan-and-scan" fullscreen masters for later episodes).
- The end credits are noticeably longer in this series than in the following series, being 40 seconds long instead of 30 seconds.
Continuity
- This series marks the first appearances of Bob, Wendy, Scoop, Muck, Dizzy, Roley, Lofty, Pilchard, Bird, Travis, Spud, Farmer Pickles and Mrs. Potts.
- Despite not making her physical debut in this series, Marjorie is also mentioned in Buffalo Bob.
- This is the only series in which Wendy worked as a full-time secretary.
Trivia
- The only episode of this series to not be released onto home media in North America is Naughty Spud.
- The production order for this series is considered the official order according to Mattel (as used in YouTube uploads and copyright claims), its Complete Series releases, and the UK When Bob Became a Builder DVD.
- Some television guide sites incorrectly list this series airing between 28 November 1998 – 21 February 1999 for the UK (going off of production dates indicating the series wrapped production by the end of February, these dates would be unfeasible); said order also places Travis Paints the Town after the 1998 episodes.
- In the Swedish dub of this series, the characters utter some English words.
- This is the only series where Spud and Farmer Pickles are voiced by Carlo Schmidt in the Swedish dub.
- In the Icelandic and Russian dubs, Kate Harbour's voice lines for Pilchard and Bird were dubbed over.
