Rusty Rogers is a character introduced in the special Built to be Wild. He was a cowboy and an owner of his own round-up who first found gold in the oldern days. He was also Rio's great-great-grandfather. He only appears during the song Gold Fever which is sung by Rio.

Both Rogers and Grampa Billy are the only characters confirmed to have passed away in the franchise (albeit prior to the events of the series).
