Trivia[]
- The trailer was featured at the end of the Fireman Sam DVD, Fun Run and at the beginning of the Bob the Builder DVD, Hold Onto Your Hard Hats!.
- Bird, Travis and Scrambler do not appear in this special. Benny is mentioned by Scoop in a deleted scene. It is currently unknown if he was originally planned to appear in the special or not.
- This special features Muck and Spud as the main protagonists.
- The scene where the bridge breaks underneath Spud is reminiscent of the 1984 movie, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The scene where Muck and Spud run away from the boulder inside the mine is another Indiana Jones reference.
- In one scene, Spud exclaims, "Whip-crack away!" This is a reference to the musical, Calamity Jane.
- The opening number Cowboy Holiday is a rewritten version of Sir Cliff Richard's popular song, "Summer Holiday", with the lyrics altered to fit the special's narrative.
- Pieces of Rio's puppet (mainly the hair piece and head) were reused for Meg, and Jackaroo's prop was retooled into Dodger.
- This is the second time where Bob had the nickname Buffalo Bob, the first time was in an episode of Series 1 with the same name.
- This is the first (and only) time a character passes gas in the series, albeit in a daydream sequence.
- This is the only production to have Petri Hanttu as part of the Finnish voice cast.
- This is the first special to be a musical, though not the first to have characters sing original songs (A Christmas to Remember).
- This is the second special when Bob's machine team dress up. The first one being The Knights of Can-a-Lot.
- This is also the third time Muck and Dizzy dress up for a special occasion. The first and second times they did it were the Series 2 episode Bob's White Christmas and the special The Knights of Can-a-Lot.
- This is the second time Mr. Bentley does not wear his glasses, the first time was the Series 6 episode Mr. Sabatini's Smashing Day.
- The earliest advertisement for the US DVD was in the booklet for Build it And They Will Come.
- Cactus Creek is the main setting for this special.
- This release was going to be produced for VHS on the same day as the DVD in the United States, but it was cancelled due to the fact that major American studios stopped producing VHS tapes.
- This is the second special to have music stars as part of its voice cast. It was pop-singer Donny Osmond (of the pop group The Osmonds) who voiced Jackaroo and rockstar Suzi Quatro who voiced Rio.
- Unusually, this is the first time where any of the machines' mouths move in-sync to their dialogue (albeit only when they are singing 'Cowboy Holiday', with the exception of Jackaroo).
- This is the last US Bob the Builder DVD to have the 2001-2006 Hit Entertainment logo.
- In a PBS Kids Sprout airing, Spud sneezes due to burping without manners may find it rude for younger audiences.
- Muck has two smiling mouths, the one from season 5 was only uses in the intro (Lucky Muck) fantasy scene and her/his current one was use in the rest of the film.
- In the US version, during the songs, Bob and Wendy sing with southern accents, with Tim Howar providing Bob's singing voice.
- Wendy's singing voice is an impression of the late Tammy Wynette. Likewise, Bob's singing voice seems to be Howar's take on the still living George Strait.
- This is the second time Bob wears his blue work jeans. He first wore them in the music video for Can We Fix It?.
- This special is the last one to be released on DVD in Japan.
